THE BULL RUN IN KARLSTAD
Tjurruset Karlstad is not an ordinary race. It is an incredibly physical challenge where participants run through forest, mud and all kinds of obstacles. If your clothes are clean at the finish line, you’ve made a mistake – Tjurruset is a dirty running party like no other. But that’s also the beauty of the whole event.
Spring Tjurruset – a dirty running party
Tjurruset is nowadays located in different places in Sweden, but it is actually in Karlstad that it all started, almost 20 years ago.
A challenging course
The Tjurruset off-road course is about ten kilometers long and consists of a series of surprises. Both in the form of natural barriers as well as built ones. And a good amount of muddy soil, of course.
The design of the track is kept secret until the day of the Tjurruset – all to make the race day as exciting and intense as possible. Even the most experienced runner needs to be prepared for a tough challenge. Most of it is really based on sheer willpower rather than being able to run the mile under 40 minutes.
Tjurruset in Värmland 2020 – book now!
Tjurruset in Karlstad 2020 will be held on September 19, and offers space for up to 3,500 runners to take on the challenges of the Värmland forest. Be sure to register today to secure your place in the race.
Kalvruset – the bull run for the little ones
Of course the kids should be involved in the dirtiest running party of the year! As a complement to Tjurruset, Kalvruset, an off-road competition for children and young people aged 9-14, is also organized. Compared to the big race, this course is about 3 km long and packed with fun challenges.
It is important that you who run Kalvruset are able to swim as some parts of the course are in water. If you like jumping through water and mud (and who doesn’t?), Kalvruset is an experience you don’t want to miss.

The price does not include cleaning, but you can buy our cleaning service, it costs 590:- for Linden, Eken, Aspen, Granen & Skogsgläntan 1, 790:- for Tallen and Villavagn and Skogsgläntan 2 and 990:- for Strandstugorna (excluding garbage and dishes).
The booking becomes binding when you receive a confirmation of your booking from us. It can be done in different ways, in writing, by email or through an online booking system.
