Lars Lerin biography
Lars Lerin was born in 1954 in Munkfors. He studied at the Gerlesborg school, 1974-75, and at Valand Academy of Art in Gothenburg, 1980-84.He is one of Scandinavia’s leading watercolour artists and has exhibited both independently and with other artists at galleries and museums in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, France, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway, Germany and the USA. His work can be found in municipalities, regional authorities and museums both in Sweden and in Norway.
Lars was awarded the Academy of Värmländ’s Laurel Leaf in 2005 and was chosen as Värmland’s Writer of the Year in 2006. He is also an honorary doctor at Karlstad University, a title he earned thanks to his great artistry both as a writer and painter. In 2014 Lars’s book Natural Science was awarded the August Prize in the Swedish Non-Fiction Book of the Year category.
