It was in 2024 that Karlstad last burst into a sea of glitter and pink sequins, bathed in boundless joy. But now it’s that time again, as Melodifestivalen comes to Karlstad for the sixth time! On 5–6 February 2027, Semi-final 1 will take place at Löfbergs Arena. Warm up your voice and join in!

Melodifestivalen is one of the year’s biggest music festivals, attracting visitors from all over the country with live entertainment, a party atmosphere and new musical experiences. Across five different heats in Karlstad, Gothenburg, Malmö, Halmstad and Norrköping, the artists will engage in an intense battle to win over the TV viewers and the jury, convincing them that their entry should go through to the prestigious final at the Strawberry Arena in Stockholm on 13 March 2027.

So who will be hosting Mello 2027?

Well, this year’s presenting duo for the 2027 Melodifestivalen tour consists of Oscar Zia and Björn Kjellman. This is the first time they will be hosting the contest together, and for Björn it will also mark his debut as a presenter for Melodifestivalen. Oscar is returning after two previous stints as a presenter, whilst Björn has extensive experience of the competition both as a performer and as a Eurovision commentator.

Marcus & Martinus won in Karlstad in 2024 – who will win in 2027?

Do you remember that the last time Mello visited Karlstad, Marcus & Martinus won with the song ‘Unforgettable’? And with that song, they went on to win Melodifestivalen in Stockholm and went on to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest, which was held in Malmö that year, where they finished in 9th place. Perhaps this year’s winner is also among the line-up in Karlstad!

The artists set to compete in Karlstad have not yet been officially announced, but will be listed here as soon as they are revealed.

Did you know that this will be the sixth time Karlstad has had the honour of hosting Melodifestivalen? The city has hosted heats in 2004, 2006, 2013, 2018 and 2024.
