Everything from Selma Lagerl\u00f6f to Lars Lerin. Lerin is one of Sweden&#8217;s foremost artists &#8211; and his Sandgrund gallery is in Karlstad.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"block-container block-core-paragraph\"><div class=\"block is-wp-block core-paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When visiting our campsite, don&#8217;t miss a visit to the art gallery. In this bright and airy space on the headland in Karlstad, you&#8217;ll find Lars Lerin&#8217;s beautiful paintings. There is also a shop in the art gallery that sells books. Fortunately, Sandgrund is a living gallery where the paintings are rehung about once a year to make room for all the art.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"block-container block-core-paragraph\"><div class=\"block is-wp-block core-paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is not unusual for as much as two thirds of the basic exhibition to be replaced. It&#8217;s always worth popping into the art gallery when you visit Karlstad to discover new works by Lars Lerin.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"block-container block-core-heading\"><div class=\"block is-wp-block core-heading\">\n<h3 class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">About Lars Lerin<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"block-container block-core-paragraph\"><div class=\"block is-wp-block core-paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lars Lerin was born in 1954 in Munkfors, Sweden. He studied at Gerlesborg School in 1974-75 and at Valand Art Academy in Gothenburg in 1980-84. Lars Lerin is considered one of the foremost watercolorists in the Nordic countries and has exhibited in both group and solo exhibitions in galleries and museums in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, France, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway, Germany and the United States. He is represented in municipalities, county councils and museums in both Sweden and Norway.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"block-container block-core-paragraph\"><div class=\"block is-wp-block core-paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lars has been awarded the V\u00e4rmland Academy&#8217;s Lagerl\u00f6v 2005, he was elected V\u00e4rmland Author of the Year 2006 and is an honorary doctor at Karlstad University, a title he has been honored with for his great artistry both as a writer and visual artist.
